The Insta360 X6 is a flagship 360° camera designed for creators who want to capture everything around them and decide the final framing later. It combines 8K 360° video, dual Sony-customised sensors, advanced AI processing, FlowState Stabilisation, Horizon Lock, and an upgraded 2.32-inch OLED display in a compact 196g body.
8K 50fps 360° Video
The X6 can record 360° video at up to 8K 50fps, providing high-resolution footage that can be reframed into different compositions during editing. It also supports 6K and 4K 360° recording at higher frame rates.
This makes the camera particularly useful for travel videos, action sports, motorcycle rides, adventure content, virtual tours, and immersive social media content.
Dual Sony-Customised Sensors
The X6 uses dual Sony-customised square sensors with a 1-inch-class sensor design. Insta360 states that the larger sensor provides increased light intake and improved detail compared with the previous generation.
120MP 360° Photos
For still photography, the X6 supports 120MP 360° photographs, allowing creators to capture highly detailed immersive images and choose different perspectives later.

The X6 can also operate as an ultra-wide conventional camera. It supports up to 5K60fps flat video and 4K120fps recording, making it useful when you want a more traditional action-camera perspective.
InstaFrame 2.0
InstaFrame 2.0 allows the X6 to produce ready-to-share flat video while retaining an 8K 360° backup. Smart tracking can follow people, pets, or objects, reducing the amount of manual reframing required.
FlowState Stabilisation & 360° Horizon Lock
The X6 incorporates FlowState Stabilisation and 360° Horizon Lock to keep footage smooth and level even during significant camera movement or rotation. This is particularly useful for cycling, motorcycling, skiing, hiking, and handheld movement.
Low-Light & Night Shooting
The X6 includes PureVideo mode, ambient-light sensing, and upgraded image processing for improved low-light footage. Its dual ambient light sensors are designed to reduce flicker and improve detail in darker environments.
10-Bit Colour & I-Log
For more advanced post-production workflows, the X6 supports 10-bit video recording and I-Log, providing greater flexibility for colour grading. Insta360 also lists native Dolby Vision support.
Waterproof & Adventure Ready
The X6 is IP68-rated and waterproof to 20 metres without a case, making it suitable for many water-based activities. For deeper underwater 360° shooting, Insta360 recommends using the appropriate Invisible Dive Case.
Replaceable Lenses 2.0
The X6 features Replaceable Lenses 2.0, allowing damaged lenses to be replaced rather than requiring replacement of the entire camera. Insta360 states that the updated lenses are more scratch-resistant than the previous generation.
Long Runtime & Fast Charging
The included 2600mAh Xtreme Battery provides up to 140 minutes of 8K30fps recording in Endurance Mode under the manufacturer’s test conditions. With a compatible 30W PPS charger, Insta360 states that the camera can reach 80% charge in approximately 24 minutes.
Built-In Storage & Connectivity
The X6 includes 64GB built-in storage, with approximately 47GB available, and also supports a microSD card rated UHS-I V30 or higher. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 and USB 3.1 Type-C.
